NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – MaryAnn V. Castellano, 75, of North Salem, died Thursday, July 7. She was 75.
Born April 12, 1941, in the Bronx, she was the daughter of Rose and Al Tarantino. She worked her first job at The Mary Chess Perfume Company on Fifth Avenue in New York City. After marrying Michael and while raising her children, she worked in the North Salem School District as a teacher’s aide and will be remembered as “Mrs. C.” to all who have known and loved her.
She is survived by her children, Michele (John) Pezzillo of North Salem, Melissa (Peter) Karaffa of New Milford, Conn., Michael (Kristal) Castellano of North Salem, Mark (Theresa) Castellano of North Salem and Matthew (Catherine) Castellano of Patterson; and 11 grandchildren, Zach and Jesse Pezzillo, Mia and Bella Castellano, Michael and Andrew Karaffa, Dominic and Marco Castellano and Matthew, Steven and Joseph Castellano.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Melinda Castellano.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Somers. Interment followed at June Cemetery in North Salem.
