North Salem Community Member Gloria Geller Dies

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- Gloria Geller, a longtime member of the North Salem community and member of the American Legion Post 1866 Ladies Auxilary, died on Thursday. She was 88.

She is survived by her husband Herb Geller, commander of Post 1866, who has also been a major backbone of the community. He organizes the Memorial Day Parade and Veterans Day ceremony.

Visitation will be at the Cassidy Funeral Home, 288 East Main St., Mt. Kisco, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.

A service will follow at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Herb Geller will also be sitting shiva, receiving guests at his home Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Donations in memory of Geller a can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation (Parkinson's Disease ). Information is available online or The American Legion Post 1866, P.O. Box 511, North Salem, NY10560, These donations will be used to send young North Salem women to Girls State in Geller's memory.
