NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – Gloria Messinger Mandelstam, a longtime weekend resident of North Salem and one of the founding members of the North Salem Open Land Foundation, passed away in Manhattan on Wednesday, according to a New York Times obituary.
She spent nearly 40 years as a staff attorney, assistant general counsel and, eventually, managing director of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). Her husband, Charles, who died in 2007, was general counsel to the North Salem Open Land Foundation for 30 years.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, May 10, at 6:30 p.m. at the Yale Club, 50 Vanderbilt Avenue, Manhattan. No RSVP is necessary.
