NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – North Salem resident, Ralph Caputo Sr. passed away at Northern Westchester Hospital on Sunday, just days after his 79th birthday.
Caputo was born in the Bronx and married Frances Moschella in 1956. He worked as the Pelham Branch Manager of New York Off-Track Betting, before retiring after 27 years.
He was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Croton Falls and a life member of the Somers Knights of Columbus.
Caputo is survived by his wife, Frances, his sons, Neil of Carmel, and Frank and Paul of North Salem, and his daughters, Gloria Albright of Rutland, Vermont, Maryann Link of Mahopac and Diane Outhouse and Veronica Howley of North Salem.
He is also survived by a sister, Gloria Marra of Somers, and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Ralph, Jr., in 2002.
Friends may call at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, on Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Croton Falls, on Saturday, March 23 at 11:30 a.m., followed by interment at the Peach Pond Cemetery in North Salem.
