NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - Ralph C. Caputo, Sr. of North Salem died Sunday, March 17. He was 79.
Caputo was born March 12, 1934, in the Bronx, N.Y., son of Aniello and Emila (Canterella) Caputo. He worked as a branch manager for Off-Track Bettig in Pelham for 27 years before retiring.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Croton Falls; he was also a life member of Knights of Columbus in Somers.
Caputo is survived by his wife, Frances; daughters, Veronica Howley and Diane Outhouse both of North Salem, N.Y., Maryann Link of Mahopac, N.Y., Gloria Albright of Rutland, Vt.; sons, Neil Caputo of Carmel, N.Y., Frank Caputo and Paul Caputo both of North Salem, N.Y.; sister, Gloria Marra of Somers, N.Y.; 16 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Ralph C. Caputo, Jr.
Friends may call at Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Beecher Funeral Home 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 23, 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church; Croton Falls, N.Y. Interment will follow at Peach Pond Cemetery, North Salem, N.Y.
