Warren Bloomer Lucas, 90, Of North Salem, Postmaster

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - Warren Bloomer Lucas of North Salem died Thursday, Dec. 18. He was 90.

Lucas was born March 8, 1924, in Brooklyn, to Kathryn Bloomer Lucas and Malcolm Slade Lucas. He grew up in North Salem. He attended North Salem schools and at the age of 19 volunteered for the 10th Mountain Division (Alpine Ski troops). He trained in Camp Hale and in 1945 was deployed to the Italian Apennines. He was postmaster of North Salem for over 30 years, He was president of the North Salem Historical Society, member of the North Salem Lions Club and along with his wife, Betty, a member of the North Salem Improvement Society.

Lucas is survived by his wife, Betty Hassett Lucas; children, Warren J. Lucas, Kathryn Lucas, Mary (Lucas) Cooper, Diana (Lucas) Hewlett and Thomas M. Lucas; 11 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Calling hours are Monday, Dec. 22 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Clark Associates Funeral Home at 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Joseph's Church, 95 Plum Brook Road, Somers. Interment will follow at June Cemetery on June Road, North Salem.
