Danbury Man Faces DWI Charge In Brewster

BREWSTER, N.Y. -- A Connecticut man is facing a felony charge of driving while intoxicated following his arrest in Brewster. 

Putnam County Deputy Sheriff Thomas Lee stopped a motorist who had committed traffic violations on Main Street in Brewster on April 29 at 1:21 a.m., according to Sheriff Donald B. Smith.

The deputy determined that the driver, identified as Alvaro Bonilla, 46, of 636 Osbourne St., Danbury, was intoxicated, authorities said. The deputy further determined that  Bonilla had been previously convicted of driving while intoxicated in 2014.

The deputy arrested the man and charged him with driving while intoxicated, a felony. The defendant was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and held pending arraignment.
