A member of the Yorktown Police Department K-9 unit was on patrol with his partner, “Dallas,” at approximately 9:20 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 6 when they stopped a 22-year-old from Peekskill - whose name was not disclosed - for speeding on Route 6.

During the traffic stop, police said that as Dallas was surveying the scene, he “quickly located 39.5 grams of marijuana that was concealed in the vehicle.” The driver was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of marijuana and several vehicle and traffic infractions.

Following processing at Yorktown Justice Court, the driver was released on $200 cash bail. He is due back in court later this year to answer the charge.
