Firefighters Battle North Salem Blaze That Leads To Route 116 Closure

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- Firefighters batted a fire at 258 Titicus Road on Wednesday.

The fire led to the closure of Route 116 in both in the area of Delancey Road for more than an hour and a half.

According to Trevor Cable, a Croton Falls firefighter, a fire that began as in the chimney spread to the front of the house.

Firefighters received the call at 1:23 p.m. The closure of Route 116 was reported at 2:28 p.m. It was cleared at 4 p.m.

The Croton Falls fire department was assisted by Bedford Hills, Golden Bridge, Katonah and South Salem fire departments.
