The woman's husband reported to police that he noticed cash missing from the top drawer of a dresser in their hallway. He then checked the drawer below for a jewelry box containing at least $15,000 worth of items, which he said was also missing.
The complainant's wife is bedridden and requires professional care when he is at work. They hired a home aide who worked about four hours a day March 11-14, as well as March 18, according to the police report.
On March 23, he noticed the missing money, jewelry and purse. Since that time, the aid has been out of contact with her employer, as well as the victims, police said.
If caught, the women would be charged with grand larceny.
The stolen items include a diamond signet ring with an engraving that reads "AA" worth $5,000; a diamond tennis bracelet worth $10,000; and a purse with a wallet worth $100.
The value of a few other items the victims also reported stolen still has to be determined. They are a 2-carat diamond stud and a small gold initial ring with an engraving that reads "JA."
Lewisboro police have turned the case over to the New York State Police.
