The 6-year-old horse wandered into the pool area when a fence was left open while the lawn was being mowed, the Citizen said.

Dash was in the deep end, struggling to keep his head above water while the owners held him with a small piece of rope by the side of the pool, the Fairfield Citizen said.

First responders removed the pool cover then guided Dash to the shallow end of the pool and up the steps, the Citizen said.
