Vincent O’Reilly, 35, has been charged with first-degree attempted criminal possession of marijuana and second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, both felonies; and unlawfully growing cannabis, a misdemeanor, police said.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department said it received a tip about the alleged pot operation and raided O’Reilly’s house where they found indoor grow tents, a ventilation system, grow lights, 18 marijuana plants, and about five pounds of pot in various stages of processing.

O’Reilly was arraigned before Town of Patterson Justice Anthony Mole and sent to the Putnam County Correctional Facility on $2,500 bail.

He will appear in the Town of Kent Justice Court at an unspecified date.

If found guilty of the felony charges, O’Reilly could face up to seven years in state prison and a fine of up to $5,000, police said.
