Man Charged With Leaving Dog In Car At BJ's In Yorktown

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- A 60-year-old Briarcliff Manor man is facing a confinement charge after Yorktown Police investigated a report of a dog left in a car with no ventilation for more than 45 minutes Thursday in Yorktown, police said.

Andrzej Sakrajda was released on an appearance ticket requiring him to report on Thursday, July 21, in Yorktown Town Court to answer for the town code violation, police said. He's charged with confinement in a motor vehicle, police said.

Officers came to the parking lot at BJ's Wholesale Club on Crompond Road (Route 202) after getting a call about 9:30 a.m. Thursday. Police said their investigation showed the Doberman pinscher dog was left in the car without ventilation or water for about 46 minutes, police said.
