NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – A man under the railroad bridge on Bridge Street in Croton Falls began shouting and causing a disturbance about 10:50 p.m. Saturday, North Salem police said.
Police Officers Dennis Cullen and James DePaoli questioned the man, who said he was “just letting off some steam” while waiting for the next train to the Bronx. The officers remained in the area until the man boarded the train about 11:20 p.m.
The following incidents also were reported by North Salem police:
Speeding Motorcycles: Lewisboro police contacted the North Salem police Sunday afternoon, Sept. 2, concerning three motorcyclists speeding north along Route 22. Sgt. Neil Caputo stopped a blue and white motorcycle at the traffic light near Titicus River Road. Caputo confirmed that the biker was one of the people in question and detained him until the Lewisboro police arrived to assume custody.
Squatter Stays Out: Following up on last week’s discovery and eviction of a squatter at a Finch Road address, Sgt. Andrew Brown canvassed the property this week in the company of an owner’s representative. No evidence was found of a person living there any longer.
Youths on Railroad Tracks: On Thursday evening, Aug. 30, Sgt. Neil Caputo investigated a report of two youngsters jumping onto the railroad tracks in Croton Falls. They had run away before he arrived.
Car Vandalism: About 1 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, the letter B was scratched on the quarter panel and rear door of a 2009 Volkswagen parked at Pietsch Gardens. Officer Silvio Ruvolo investigated.
Boys Flee: Late Monday afternoon, Sept. 3, a resident of Sunset Drive reported about a half-dozen boys behaving suspiciously. As Officer Dennis Cullen arrived, the boys pulled their shirts over their heads and dashed across the street and into the woods. No suspects were apprehended.
