Motorcyclist, 28, Dies After Crashing Into Car On Sprain Brook Parkway

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- A Mount Vernon man died early Wednesday morning after crashing his motorcycle into the back of another vehicle on the Sprain Brook Parkway near Greenburgh, police say.

Andre P. Lindsay, 28, was traveling southbound on the Sprain Brook Parkway at a high rate of speed at around 12:30 a.m., when he struck the rear of a southbound 2007 Honda Fit, driven by 44-year-old Ana Y. Mateo-Nunez of the Bronx, according to New State Trooper Melissa McMorris.

Lindsay was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained serious life-threatening injuries, McMorris said.

McMorris said several Good Samaritans passing the crash stopped to help offer medical aid and CPR on Lindsay until emergency medical crews arrived on the scene. 

Lindsay was transported to Westchester Medical Center by Greenburgh police and EMS, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. Mateo-Nunez was not injured.

The state police were assisted by the Greenburgh Police Department EMS, FDNY EMS, and the Good Samaritan.
