The baby’s father was already at the roadside attempting to administer CPR when CFFD Chief John Blauvelt and NY State Trooper Brad Molloy arrived, quickly followed by firefighters Jason Blauvelt, Gary Weber and Jeff Daday. The emergency squad took over CPR administration and soon got a pulse and a strong heartbeat. The infant was then transported to Putnam Hospital by the North Salem Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
“When we left the Emergency Room, the baby was crying,” said 1st Assistant Chief Jason Blauvelt. “Meaning, she was doing a lot better than when we met her at the side of the road.”
