North Salem Police Come To Aid Of Intoxicated Man

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – North Salem police were called to Bloomer Road on Thursday, Nov. 8, to assist an intoxicated male.

Police received a report at around 7:18 p.m. of an intoxicated male in dark clothes walking on the roadway. Police checked the area and found the subject in the vicinity of Volunteer’s Park.

Police contacted the male’s girlfriend, who asked officers to drive him to her residence to stay the night. She said she had taken his car keys so he could not drive.

Officers took the man to the nearby home and advised him not to stay their until he recovered.

• On Tuesday, Nov. 6, North Salem police were called to Route?? to assist State Police with a dispute in a car. The incident involved a female’s brother and her boyfriend. All parties were released to their parents.

• On Thursday, Nov. 8, North Salem police were called to Mills Road, where state Department of Conservation employees were requesting that a vehicle be removed. The white Toyota was off the road and apparently abandoned. Police noted that the car had passenger-side and front-end damage and appeared to have struck a utility pole.

North Salem police discovered that the State Police had responded to the accident earlier that morning and that the car was registered to a Bogtown Road resident. Officers met with the owner, who had a vehicle exchange report for the accident taken earlier by State Police. He said he was told by State Police he could leave his car there until morning after contacting his insurance company. A tow truck sent by his insurance company arrived shortly and removed the vehicle.
