North Salem Police Impound Vehicle

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – A driver with a suspended vehicle registration triggered the License Plate Reader as Chief Thomas Howley was conducting a radar enforcement along Route 22 on Friday. The officer stopped the car and contacted the Department of Motor Vehicles, who confirmed a suspension due to a lapse of insurance coverage. The vehicle was impounded and the officer issued a summons for lack of insurance and explained to the driver what he would need to do to reinstate his registration.
