North Salem Police contacted the woman's son, who was out searching for his mother. Police took him to the site, police said.

The son explained that his mother is suffering from early stage Alzheimer’s disease, police said. She declined to be taken by ambulance to the hospital, but the son said he would take her to her own doctor for an evaluation.

The North Salem Police also reported the following incident:

Earlier that day, Officer Michael Castellano Jr. responded to a report that a young man ran through a Sugar Hill Road property, climbed into a black Lincoln Continental and drove away hastily. Castellano located the car and its driver, who was armed with an orange Super Soaker, battling high school students in a game of water assassin.
