Police Charge North Salem Teens With Felony

SOUTH SALEM, N.Y. – The New York State Police have arrested two North Salem teens and charged them with felony criminal mischief.

Troopers arrested Richard G. Shenkewitz, 18, and Jeffrey B. Hott, 17, Wednesday, and charged them with second-degree criminal mischief, a class D felony. Police said the two teens damaged a vehicle by jumping on the hood and roof and kicking the windshield.

According to police, the incident took place around 11 p.m. Aug. 9, on Vail Lane as the two suspects were leaving a party in the area.

Both men were released after their arraignment and are scheduled to appear at a later date in the town of North Salem Justice Court.
