Ridgefield Man Arrested In Robbery, Assault

DANBURY, Conn. — Two men beat up a man who owed them money Thursday afternoon in downtown Danbury and then threatened his girlfriend after they learned he had gone to the authorities, Danbury police said.

Jin Lee, 22, of Ridgefield, and Terral Belin, 23, of Danbury, are also accused of robbing the man of money when they attacked him on Liberty Street, Danbury Police said. 

Several hours after the attack, the victim went to police headquarters with several facial injuries to report the assault, police said. He told police that he had owed the two men money.

While police were investigating, officers learned that the victim's girlfriend received several threatening messages on her cellphone about her boyfriend's police report, police said.

The suspects were found later Thursday night, police said.

Belin and Lee were each charged with first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit second-degree assault, second-degree threatening, conspiracy to commit second-degree threatening, intimidating a witness, sixth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny and second-degree breach of peace.

Each man posted $10,000 bond and was released to appear in court on April 6.
