A Somers man is behind bars after state police say he physically assaulted a victim in a domestic incident on Christmas Eve.
Troopers responded at approximately 11:15 p.m. Sunday to Krystal Drive in Somers, where an investigation revealed that during an argument, the 37-year-old man physically assaulted, and menaced the victim in front of a child who was also in the residence, police said.
The man was uncooperative and combative with the responding troopers who arrived at the scene prior to and while being taken into custody, according to state police.
The man was charged with second-degree assault (a class D felony), third-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child, fourth-degree criminal mischief (preventing an emergency call), resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration and menacing in the third degree.
The man was arraigned before the Town of Somers Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail.
