Southeast Fire Sends Family Out Into The Cold

BREWSTER, N.Y. -- A fire ripped through a home on Carriage Hill Road in Southeast Thursday night, but the family was able to escape the flames, according to lohud.com.

The Brewster Fire Department responded to a fire on Carriage Hill Road that caused heavy damage to the back of the house, but no one was injured.

Brewster firefighters were able to get the fire, that is believed to have started in a first-floor fireplace, under control in about 30 minutes, reported lohud.com.

Heavy damage was contained to the back of the house, others areas of the home had water and smoke damage. No on was injured, said lohud.com.
