NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – The driver of a car left in a business parking lot on West Cross Street, near the Croton Falls Train Station, returned to his vehicle on Thursday to find that someone had punctured his two rear tires.

There were no security cameras covering the site and Police Sgt. Andrew Brown’s canvass of adjacent businesses provided no further information. Damage was estimated at about $500.

The North Salem Police also reported the followed incidents:

  • A cyclist on Titicus River Road, near the Lions Club Community Center, struck a catch basin with his tire on Friday and tumbled face first, hitting the asphalt. The New York State Police and North Salem Police Officer Paul Smith responded, along with the North Salem Volunteer Ambulance Corps, but the subject refused medical attention.
  • Two people got into a verbal dispute on Thursday at a Lakeside Drive address. When New York State Police and Officer Ralph Argiento arrived, neither party in the dispute wanted to continue the matter. No arrests were made.
