NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – Vandals have violated one of the Tompkins playing fields at North Salem High School by driving one or more vehicles across the playing surface, creating ruts and other damage. The incident, reported by North Salem police, occurred overnight between Thursday and Friday.

In order to accomplish the goal, the mischief-maker(s) drove through a locked gate and, once inside, overturned two portable toilet booths and destroyed portions of the field.

New York State Troopers Libretti and Delaney responded Friday morning to the report of vandalism and are conducting an investigation.
