Yorktown Teen Charged With Robbery Following Home Invasion, Police Say

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have arrested a 16-year-old resident of Yorktown as a juvenile offender on a robbery charge, authorities said.

The arrest stemmed from the report of a home invasion that took place Oct. 21, about 11:31 p.m., according to officials.

A woman told police she had been robbed at gunpoint by three males during the incident, police report.

Following an extensive investigation, the victim identified Frank J. Elio Jr. as one of the alleged suspects who robbed her, according to officials.

Patrols were advised of the information. Elio was spotted and taken into custody in the parking lot of the Jefferson Valley Mall on Monday, police report.

The suspect was transported to Police Headquarters for processing; he was charged as a juvenile with robbery in the first degree, a class B felony, according to officials.

Bail was set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond, but Elio was unable to post it, police report.

The defendant was remanded to the custody of the Westchester County Department of Corrections, according to officials.

He is due back in Yorktown Court on Tuesday, July 26, police report.
