Democrat Alison Boak is challenging Republican state Sen. Terrence Murphy for his seat, representing New York's 40th District.

To the editor:

While State Sen. Murphy has an enthusiastic and loyal contingent of volunteers, in Yorktown it seems to be common practice that they place signs for Murphy directly in front of Alison Boak's signs, such that her signs are completely blocked.

This is clearly not an accidental placement.

This seems like a minor issue, but it is ironic that Murphy has vigorously pursued claims of campaign improprieties against Boak, while his campaign includes such petty and unfair practices.

Sincerely,

Karen LaBonte
