The report comes as a seventh Republican, John Lange of Bedford Hills, readies to announce his bid Monday for his party's nomination for the November general election, according to The Poughkeepsie Journal.

Maloney's territory includes parts of Westchester and Dutchess counties along with all of Putnam and Orange counties. A nonpartisan police group has labeled Maloney's 18th Congressional District seat "likely" to remain Democratic, according to The Poughkeepsie Journal.

According to The Poughkeepsie Journal, other Republicans vying for the seat include:

  • Dan Castricone, of Tuxedo, who has raised $15,648;
  • Kenneth Del Vecchio, who ended 2015 with $10,311 raised;
  • Sakima Brown, of Poughkeepsie, who had collected $1,894;
  • Frank Spampinato, of Newburgh, who did not report any fundraising; and
  • Phil Oliva, an adviser to Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino, who also reported no fundraising activity.
