The League of Women Voters of Bedford-Lewisboro-North Salem will hold the first forum at 7 p.m., Thursday, for voters interested in hearing from the candidates running for the County Board of Legislators in District 2, which includes North Salem. The event is at Fox Lane Middle School in Bedford.

The second forum, for elections in North Salem, will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 20. in the Town Meeting Room, 66 June Road. The event will feature the candidates for Town Council and Town Justice.

Four people are running for two Town Council seats: Martin Aronchick, Lisa Douglas, Brent Golisano and Amy Rosmarin. There are also two Town Justice seats being sought by four candidates: John Aronian, Stephen Bobolia, Robert Leder and Solomon Schepps.

The moderator for the evening will be John Hessel, from the New Rochelle League.

“We take nonpartisanship very seriously,” said League President Susan Auslander. “Using a moderator from outside of the voting district ensures that the forum is being run by someone who has no vested interest in the outcome of the North Salem election.”

The League is a nonpartisan organization; while it does take positions on issues, it does not endorse candidates. The league board will compose the questions that will be asked at the forum and candidates will not be shown the questions in advance.

Both forums are free and open to the public. For more information, contact the League of Women Voters of Bedford-Lewisboro-North Salem at lwv.blns@gmail.com or visit their website at https://sites.google.com/site/lwvblns/
