The playing fields at Pleasantville’s three public schools are all scheduled to be resurfaced with artificial turf next year, but a group of parents believe the “crumb rubber” turf may have potentially hazardous carcinogens, theexaminernews.com reported.

"Crumb rubber" is comprised of ground-up recycled tires, and may include more than 30 substances including black carbon and phthalates, according to theexaminernews.com.
