The Whiskey Kitchen, Valley Cottage
What Makes It Patty Perfect: TWK, as TV chef Emeril Lagasse would say, kicks their burger offerings “up a notch” by making some of them with lamb and duck, and not just beef. The former comes with feta cheese, Kalamata olive spread, and tzatziki, a Greek cucumber/yogurt sauce. And the latter is made of sage-infused duck meat and is heaped with flash-fried onions and duck crackling mayo.
Also on the wild side is TWK’s “surf and turf” burger featuring a good chunk of Maine lobster and served “open face.” Its "Half and Half" burger is made with ground bacon, and venison that it sources from a local farm. Of course, you still can get a good, old-fashioned bacon-cheeseburger. In keeping with its Nashville vibe, TWK keeps the beer and the bourbon flowing, has live bands, and hosts daily pub grub specials. Think Macaroni and Cheese Mondays, Taco Tuesdays, and Throw Em Back Thursdays, when you can pig out on oysters and clams.
