Brewster High Grad Horler Comes Home, Thrives In Role Of Principal

BREWSTER, N.Y. -- Daily Voice sat down with Brewster High School's Nichole Horler as part of our ongoing spotlight series on area high school principals.

Daily Voice talks to Brewster High Principal Nichole Horler about her new position, what she finds special about Brewster High School, educational programs at the school, what she loves about her job and more.

Nichole Horler is back home, and loving it.

Horler, a 1984 Brewster High graduate and a four-year field hockey standout, returned to her alma mater July 1, becoming the school's principal and immersing herself in what she called 'a surreal experience.'

Horler, who resides in Middletown, got her education after Brewster at Dutchess Community College, SUNY New Paltz and Long Island University. Before coming to Brewster, Horler spent four years as principal at  Monticello Middle School.

In speaking with Horler, it becomes quickly evident that she carries an intense enthusiasm for her work, enjoys what she does, and savors the relationships that develop with staff and students.
