CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- The Chappaqua Central School District has decided on its next superintendent.
The Board of Education said late Tuesday night that pending a site visit, Christine Ackerman will be appointed to the post at the May 3 school board meeting.
Ackerman is currently superintendent of the Greenwood Lake School District in Orange County.
She previously was Dean of Students at John Jay High School and Vice Principal of Valhalla Middle School/High School. She was later named principal of Millbrook High School and became Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum at Millbrook.
Lyn McKay, the previous superintendent, announced her resignation in October, amid the fallout of the handling of the sex-abuse allegations following the resignation of former drama teacher Christopher Schraufnagel. Daniel McCann has been serving as interim superintendent.
