North Salem Recreation Department Offers Ski Lessons Beginning In January

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- The North Salem Recreation Department is offering ski lessons for students, beginning on Wednesday, Jan. 8 and  continuing on subsequent Wednesdays through February. 

The five-week program is for students in grades 3-12 and will take place at Thunder Ridge Ski Area, Patterson, N.Y. 

A bus will pick up the students from the North Salem Middle School and North Salem Elementary School (PQ) at approximately 3:30 p.m. and return to the PQ gym at approximately 6:50 p.m. There will be one make-up lesson to be scheduled at a later date.

Children who have their own equipment may ride the bus, but the equipment must be transported separately by their parents. (New York State Law does not allow the transportation of children and skis/snowboards on the same bus.)

If there is an early dismissal or no school, trips will be postponed.

The following lessons will be offered:

Package 1: Lesson, lift ticket, rental (ski/snowboard) transportation and chaperone $375 Package 2: Lesson, rental (ski/snowboard) transportation and chaperone (no lift ticket) $300 Package 3: Lesson, lift ticket, transportation and chaperone (no rental) $250 Package 4: Lesson, lift ticket and chaperone (no rental, no transportation) $215 Package 5: Lesson, transportation and chaperone (no lift ticket, no rental) $175 Package 6: Lesson and chaperone (no rental, no lift ticket, no transportation) $140 Package 7: Sesson, lift ticket, rental, chaperone (no transportation) $340
