NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – The North Salem School Board will have three open seats for the next three-year term, which runs from July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2016.
In order to qualify, a candidate must have resided in the school district without interruption for at least a year prior to election and must be a qualified voter in the district. Anyone who has been convicted of a felony is ineligible unless he/she has been pardoned by the governor or president, or, has been discharged from parole, or, the maximum sentence of imprisonment has expired.
Anyone interested in running for the North Salem School Board must present a nominating petition with at least 25 qualified signatures and file the petition with the District Clerk at the District Office, 230 June Road, North Salem.
The filing deadline is 5 p.m., Monday, April 22. The Trustee Election takes place on May 21, 2013.
