NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- Fourth- and fifth-grade students of North Salem Central District will have the opportunity to join the PQ Chorus, beginning January 2014.
PQ Chorus is an afterschool activity for students. Late buses will be provided for children who wish to join.
The meetings will be held once a week on Wednesdays or Thursdays from 3:05 p.m. to 3:50 p.m.
Students will be divided into two groups in order to teach a two part harmony. The goal will be to work toward the following two concert dates:
* May 20, 2014 at 7 p.m., “Fine Arts Night” * May 30, 2014 High Notes Festival at Lake Compounce
Wednesday sessions will meet on the following dates: Jan. 15, 22 and 29; Feb. 5, 12 and 26; Mar. 5, 12, and 20; April 2, 9, 23 and 30; May 7-8* (Thursday) May 14-15 *(Thursday); May 19* (Monday); May 22* (Thursday), May 28-29* (Thursday).
Thursday sessions will meet on the following dates: Jan. 16, 23 and 30; Feb. 6, 13, 21 and 27; March 6, 13, 20 and 27; Apr. 3, 10, and 24; May 1 and May 7* (Wednesday); May 8, May 14* (Wednesday), May 15 and May 19* (Monday); May 22, May 28 (Wednesday) and May 29
Please be aware that these dates will include the students from both sessions in order to practice together and work towards the concert that will take place on Fine Arts Night, May 20 at 7 p.m
