The Thursday night announcement comes after 27 home games at the Brewster Ice Arena in the previous hockey season during which the team struggled to draw substantial crowds, according to lohud.com, which reported that average attendance per home game was 243 people – the lowest average home game attendance of all six Federal League teams.

Bruce Bennett, owner of both the Bulldogs and the Federal League’s Danbury Titans, told lohud.com that running the Bulldogs and the Titans was “too much for myself.”

The Titans average attendance during 28 home games last season hovered around 733, according to lohud.com, which reported that Bennett is seeking a partner to revive the Brewster team for the 2017-2018 hockey season.
