Brewster High Players, Fans Anxious For 2016 Football Season

BREWSTER, N.Y. - With a solid returning core, a big, strong line and a returning All-Section quarterback to run the show, the Brewster High football team is looking forward to the 2016 season.

Daily Voice talks to Bears coach Ed Mulvihill, All-Section quarterback Jack Guida, and linemen Nick Leahy and Conner Dignan about the upcoming season.

"We have a big team - size-wise and numbers wise," Ed Mulvihill,  entering his fifth year as head coach and his 31st season with the program, told Daily Voice during a recent visit to training camp. "We have some big kids, and that could be our identity... we'll run the ball this year."

The Bears will look for leadership from senior team captains Conner Dignan (OL), Nick Leahy (DL) and All-Section signal caller Jack Guida.

Brewster opens the 2016 season Friday, Sept. 2 at home, facing Our Lady of Lourdes at 7 p.m.
