District 33 Little League Baseball Tourney to Open

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The District 33 Little League Baseball Championships begin Friday in the Major’s and Minor’s divisions.

Ten teams will play for the Major’s title, with four opening up Friday. North Salem will play Bedford Hills and Cortlandt American meets Brewster. Briarcliff await’s the North Salem-Bedcford Hills winner Saturday. Patterson faces the winner of Cortlandt American-Brewster Sunday. The other games Sunday include Putnam Valley-Cortlandt National and Peekskill-Croton.

The championship game is scheduled for noon July 8 at Briarcliff Little League. If a second game is needed, it will be played at 2 p.m. the same day.

Briarcliff plays Bedford Hills in the first game of the minor’s championship Friday. The winner of this game faces Cortlandt American 2 at noon Saturday. Playing at 10 a.m. Saturday is Cortlandt National against Cortlandt American 1. Croton plays Putnam Valley at noon Sunday while Brewster has a bye and will play July 28.

The title game is scheduled for 6 p.m. July 5. If needed, a second game would be at 6 p.m. July 6.
