Goldens Bridge Hounds

The fifty or so Penn-Marydel foxhounds who live on Baxter Road are the pride of the Goldens Bridge Hunt Club. The breed is known for its stamina,  tenacity, handsome conformation, “nose and voice,” and easy companionship in the hunt field. The club’s 35 active members dress in full hunt regalia for their outings and ride many types of horses. The hunts cover an area of about 20 square miles, are sometimes as long as six or seven hours, but usually run to three or four hours. The quarry may be a fox, but nowadays is often a coyote.

Throughout the spring and fall the club sponsors a series of Hunter Paces, open to all interested riders.

The Baxter Road kennels also host the Goldens Bridge Pony Club, for young equestrians in the area.

The Master of the Fox Hounds is Ken Silverman.
