Paine to Pain is a giant single loop that winds its way through the woods and trails of five different lower Westchester parks.

The route starts at the Thomas Paine College in New Rochelle and kicks off up Broadview Avenue. Runners then head onto the Leatherstocking Trail for nearly 3 miles into Mamaroneck and Larchmont.

After winding through Saxons Woods Park, the course heads into Scarsdale. The race then turns west onto Hutchinson River Trail, followed by Twin Lakes Park in Eastchester.

The course then hugs the Hutchinson River, wrapping up back in New Rochelle at New Rochelle High School.

Runners are never on the same trail twice and 90 percent of the route is on dirt and in the shade of the woods. Many of the trails are completely hidden from public view and host a wide variety of wildlife.

Water stations are set up at various points on the course.

The race entry fee is $55 until Aug. 31, $60 until the day before the race and $65 the day of the race.
