Mahopac Varsity Hockey Team Holds On To Beat John Jay

BREWSTER, N.Y. -- Mahopac's Robert Buckley scored what turned out to be the game-winner to give the Indians a 3-2 victory over John Jay of Cross River in ice hockey action Friday evening at the Brewster Ice Arena.

Mahopac (10-8-2) also got two goals from Owen Nolan, and Matt DeRosa and Buckley each had an assist.

John Jay's Cody Harris and Lucas Prestamo each had a goal.

Tom Gilmore had 33 saves in net for Mahopac. John Jay's Jason Styles stopped 21 shots on goal.

"We played well in the first two periods," 'Pac coach Chris Lombardo said. "In the third we took some penalties, we gave them a shot. But we did a tremendous job killing penalties and blocking shots."
