NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- The North Salem Booster Club Basketball will host a tournament to honor Tom Silvestro Sr. on Thursday, Jan. 9 through Saturday, Jan. 11.
The dedication ceremony will take place Friday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m., prior to the varsity boys basketball game between Pawling and North Salem.
Silvestro served in the North Salem School District in many capacities. He was the varsity golf coach for 14 years, scorekeeper for boys and girls basketball games for five years, and a member of the North Salem Booster Club for 15 years. Silvestro served as Booster Club President and helped spearhead the Tompkins Field track project. Silvestro also served as a boys basketball official for more than 30 years.
