North Salem Rec Baseball Team Wins Championship

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – The North Salem Tigers 23 and Under baseball team won the Westchester Putnam Baseball Association Summer Collegiate Championship on Monday.

North Salem blanked the Shrub Oak Storm, 7-0, to capture the 2012 championship. Each player received a championship jacket.

The Tigers defeated Cortland, 7-2, at Volunteers Park in the quarterfinals and then edged the Shrub Oak Diamondbacks, 4-3, in the semifinals. The Diamondbacks were the first place team in the WPBA and will play in the national collegiate tournament in Youngstown, Ohio.
