NORTH SALEM, N.Y. ‒ The North Salem High track and field team will be represented by Alex Monaco, Cullin Burdett and Noemie Bechu Saturday at the New York State Indoor Championships at Cornell University.

Monaco, winner of the Section 1 long jump title last week with a school record 21-feet, 2 ½-inches, leads the North Salem trio.

Burdett took third in the 1,600-meter run with a personal best of 4:26.1, and Bechu placed fourth with a school record 41.08 seconds in the 300 run.

"I think we are all just really grateful for the opportunity to attend," Monaco said. "To prepare for the state meet that is only a week away, we're going to do some light training and rest as much as we can after our long season to really be at our full potential for the meet."
