Pace Athletics Teams Compete In Vermont, Syracuse

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- The Pace University men and women’s basketball teams competed in a Northeast-10 contest against Saint Michaels in Vermont and the men's and women’s swim team competed against Le Moyne in Syracuse on Saturday, Jan. 25.

The women's basketball team recorded its best shooting night of the season with its 71-66 win against St. Michaels. Freshman Shanice Allen scored a career-high of 23 points. The team hit 51.8 percent of its shots from the field and was 6-for-13 for three-point shots. For more information about the game, click here.

Men’s basketball fell to St. Michaels 95-71. Senior Kai Smith finished with a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Jonathan Merceus gained 22 points, eight boards and three assists. Denzel Primus-Devonish finished with nine points, three steals and became the fourth player in school history to gain 400 career assists. For more information about the men's game, click here.

The swimming and diving teams had a similar pattern as the Lady Setters defeated Le Moyne and the men’s team lost.

The Lady Setters' swimming and diving team defeated Le Moyne in 159-78 in its final dual meet of the season. Kaitlyn Siriano won the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:14.66, taking home the win in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:33.92. For more information, click here.

Male swimmer Derek Slayton won two events at Le Moyne as the Setters ended their season with a 151-79 loss to the Dolphins at Le Moyne. Slayton won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 58.50 and also placed first in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:02.06. For more information, click here.

The swim teams will compete in the Northeast-10 championships hosted by Southern Connecticut University from Thursday, Feb. 6 to Sunday, Feb. 9.
