Washington assisted on the game-tying goal for the Patriots in a 1-1 tie with Dayton. He scored the game-winner in a 3-2 victory over No. 13 St. Louis. It was the first goal of the season for Washington, who plays defense. George Mason is 8-2-3 entering a game Friday, Oct. 17, at Dayton and is ranked No. 22 by Soccer News and No. 17 by Soccer by Ives.
Washington transferred from Boston University and started all 21 games last season for the Patriots. He was named to the all-Atlantic 10 first team.
Washington is a 2011 graduate of Rye Country Day, where he earned four soccer letters. He also lettered in basketball, golf and track and field. He was named by No. 1 soccer player in New York by Top Drawer Soccer in 2011.
Washington is the son of longtime Somers residents Jane and Marc Washington.
