I find this story somewhat amusing but indicative of how the PR Town Board works. The Town Board first charged itself with resolving the speeding issue on Westchester Avenue in 1994. The various town board members in charge, including Dick Lyman (for the past 7 years or so), have slowly thought out the solution to the problem. The administration just praised Senator Ball for his work on the matter but somehow failed (during the entire 18 years?!) to request the opinions of the townspeople and the merchants directly affected. What is the policy of the police for releasing names of those charged? In some reports the names are given, in others those charged are simply described by their age and residence. View Comment
Only read about two Democrats attending the party. That may have been a significant Democratic involvement back in the 1950s when there were few Democrats. But now there are more Democrats in Pound Ridge than Republicans. So a gathering of two friends of the family does not make it a reaching across the aisle. Once again a very misleading headline. If there is no partisan ploitics in PR and if the Democrats have more registants than Republicans why do the Republicans run candidates? View Comment
Would be newsworthy if a Democratic supervisor endorsed Michaelis. The fact that the article didn't mention that all five supervisors are Republicans makes the article suspect in terms of bias on the part of the journalist. View Comment
