Proceeds will go to Cooley's Anemia & Vacation Camp for the Blind and Visions/Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
Cooley's anemia is a genetic blood disorder that can be fatal if it's not treated and monitored, and complications can be numerous. These can include diabetes, growth issues, teen osteoporosis and pulmonary hypertension.
Visions/Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired serves New York City, Westchester, Rockland and Long Island with in-home and community vision rehabilitation, mobility training and workforce programs.
More information about both charities can be found online at www.cooleysanemia.org and www.visionsvcb.org, respectively.
The golf event will feature four-person best ball, a continental breakfast, barbecue lunch and a buffet dinner with awards and raffle prizes.
There will also be longest-drive and closest-to-the-pin contests.
Arroway Chevrolet is also sponsoring a hole-in-one contest, where a winner could receive a new car.
More information on the event is available online by going to the Salem Golf Club's website at www.northsalemlionsgolfouting.com or calling 914-669-9843
