First however, there will be a concert Saturday, July 2 at 3 p.m. at the Bedford Presbyterian Church at 44 Village Green, in Bedford, N.Y.

Charis is hosting the German choir during their American tour and will travel to Germany for more joint concerts in August. The Camerata Vocale, under its artistic director Hans-Dieter Reinecke, will sing works by Bach, Schütz, Reger and other German composers.

Charis will sing music by Howells, Mäntyjärvi and others. The two groups’ combined program will include Brahms’s motet “Warum ist das Licht gegeben dem Müseligen,” Mendelssohn’s “Psalm 100” and the world premiere of “Seek Him” by the Swedish composer Fredrik Sixten, a work commissioned by Charis and Camerata Vocale.

Charis is an auditioned chorus of 38 men and women from Westchester County and Fairfield County founded in 1994, and renowned for its diverse repertoire, unique blend of voices and captivating performances. This is Charis’s seventh season under Sjögren’s direction. He is also the artistic director of the Pro Arte Singers and was the director of vocal music at New Canaan High School for 34 years.

Camerata Vocale Hannover was founded in 1982, by Hans-Dieter Reinecke. Presently, about 35 singers from Hannover and the surrounding area are active in the choir. The choir's repertoire includes sacred and secular choral music of all styles and periods, with a special emphasis on the 20th century—as well as specially commissioned works by contemporary composers. Concerts are mostly held in Hannover and the north of Germany. Concert tours have brought the choir to Russia, Hungary, Canada, Sweden, Norway, Italy, the USA, Great Britain and Turkey.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased here or at the door the day of the show.
